I just am not a real gift-vizier, but! I'd advice you this much: "Find out what they like about and throught that get them something.

For an example, if your mom has sort of cleaning obsession, get her a mop. O.o
Or then nice pair of shoes, women like them.
And you dad? What does he like, that you should get. Usually me and my brothers get our dad a present together. (last year we bought him six-months Science-magazine to home, aka. my dad likes such stuff.)
